Paul Harris

Paul has been a member of Mainstreet since its inception. Paul has been a member of the Board of Directors for many years (formerly on the Board of Sydenham Community Credit Union), currently serving on Mainstreet's Governance & Human Resources Committee, and he has met the Director's competency and training requirements. Paul has been with the Credit Union through several mergers that resulted in the creation of Mainstreet and is a strong advocate for the cooperative philosophy that underpins credit unions. Paul is currently retired, but most recently practiced as a Licensed Paralegal in employment law, and prior to that, held positions as Director of Workers' Compensation Services with Workplace Health & Safety Network, General Manager at M.C Warren & Associates Inc. and Fraud Investigator with the Government of Saskatchewan. Paul has volunteered with A4A, Ontario Wildlife Rescue, Another Chance Wildlife Rehabilitation and Leads Employment Services.

Paul believes he brings a perspective to the Board that extends beyond the nuts and bolts of financial management and he accepts his responsibility to be a good steward of the Credit Union and the needs of its members. He looks at the impact of Board decisions on members and their needs, in addition to the monetary activities of the organization. Although he is recently retired, Paul remains mindful of the obligations placed upon members of a professional organization and carries that dedication to oversight and compliance into his work with the Credit Union.
